These delightful post earrings are made of dichroic glass; a form of glass that has long been used in designs for spacecraft and satellites and has now been adapted to the art community. Without using dye, paint, ink or stains, the brilliant color is produced by layering the oxides that function as optical filters; filters that affect the way light filters through the glass, and create the color that you see within the glass. These handmade earrings have a wonderful swirl of gold and crimson that seems to bleed together, making it almost seem that some beautifully colored liquid has been captured and frozen within. Each pair of earrings may vary slightly in size and coloring.
